🔍 The Challenge: Overcoming the Ravages of Time
Years of operation had led to significant wear and tear as well as scorelines on the casing, compromising its performance and threatening the reliability of the entire system. The initial assessment pointed towards a complete replacement, which would have been both costly and time-consuming. However, we saw a different path forward.
💡 Our Approach: Precision Restoration
The process involved firstly the opening (but not deepening) of the damaged areas. We then carefully rebuilt the worn and damaged bearing and seal housing areas using Brush copper plating. Our attention to detail ensured that the original dimensions were precisely reinstated, allowing the component to perform as if it were brand new.
After Copper plating, we seamlessly blended the repaired areas, ensuring a smooth transition from plated to original surfaces.
✨ The Finishing Touch: Nickel Capping for Lasting Durability
The restoration was completed with the application of a nickel cap, providing a finish that not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal but also reinforced the casing's durability. The transformation was remarkable—the previously worn sections were indistinguishable from new, and the entire process was accomplished in less than a week.
