Serving Clients Beyond Singapore
How We Support Overseas Repair Jobs
Sterling Impreglon Asia is based in Singapore, but our work has never stopped at our borders. Since 1989, we have supported customers across the Marine, Oil & Gas, and industrial sectors well beyond Southeast Asia from Middle East to Africa to Europe, and many places in between.
Why Geography Matters Less Than You'd Think
Traditional repair and plating methods often require a component to be shipped to a fixed facility which naturally limits a provider's reach to wherever customers are willing and able to send their equipment. Brush Plating works differently.
Because our process is portable, our technicians don't always need the component to come to us. In many cases, we can bring the equipment and expertise directly to the customer's site, wherever that site happens to be. This is a big part of why our work has been able to extend well beyond Singapore, without asking customers to ship critical equipment across the world and absorb the downtime that comes with it.
Where Our Work Has Taken Us
Over more than three decades, we've supported customers across a wide geographic footprint, including:
- The United States — including marine equipment manufacturers on the US West Coast, where we have carried out precision repair work on critical components like fairlead shafts
- Indonesia — supporting oil tools fabrication and repair facilities with both equipment and technical solutions for the oil & gas industry
- Australia — restoring components for bulk carrier operators, delivering fast, cost-efficient repairs for vessels that cannot afford extended downtime
- Middle East — our approved vendor status with major oil tools licensors, and our training programs conducted both in Singapore and on-site at customer facilities internationally, have connected us with operators and licensees around the world
What Overseas Support Actually Looks Like
Supporting an international customer typically falls into one of a few approaches, depending on the job:
On-site repair — for components that are difficult, costly, or time-sensitive to ship, our technicians travel to the customer's location and carry out the repair directly, using the same portable Brush Plating equipment and process we use in Singapore.
Training and capability transfer — through our STERLING SET and Certification Training programs, we have equipped teams at customer facilities overseas with the skills and equipment to perform Brush Plating themselves, reducing their need to rely on shipping components internationally for every repair.
Approved vendor partnerships — as an approved Brush Plating vendor for major oil tool licensors, our anti-galling solutions support licensees and operators applying these standards at their own facilities worldwide.
Why This Matters for International Customers
For companies operating outside Singapore, working with an overseas repair provider can understandably raise questions about turnaround time, communication, and consistency of quality.
Our approach is built around addressing exactly those concerns:
- Reduced shipping dependency — because we can often come to you, you avoid the freight cost, customs complexity, and extended lead time of sending equipment abroad
- Consistent process and quality standards — the same Brush Plating chemicals, equipment, and technique we use in Singapore are applied wherever the job takes place
- Long-term capability options — for customers with recurring repair needs, our training programs offer a path to building in-house capability, rather than relying on us for every job indefinitely
A Global Capability, Built on the Same Standards
Whether a repair happens at our facility in Singapore or on-site at a customer's location overseas, the standard doesn't change. Our reputation, built over more than three decades, rests on consistent, reliable results regardless of where in the world the work takes place.
